Last Wednesday, August 27, Weatherby Healthcare unveiled its new Durham office in style with an elegant open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony. A number of our executive leaders—including Pat Kennedy, our president; and Vice Presidents Bev Leonard, Gregory Prine, and Warren Wooley—and Mark Law, group president, CHG Healthcare Services, traveled to North Carolina especially for the event.
In addition to our performance-driven consultants, business partners, and leaders, esteemed guests included Mayor Pro Tempore Cora Cole-McFadden; Kevin Dick, director of the City of Durham’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development; Cassie Proper, senior relationship manager, United Way of the Greater Triangle; and Alex Dixon, a business reporter with The Herald Sun. Lead contractors and designers who had worked on the space also attended the open house. The festivities kicked off around 3 p.m. with a mix and mingle.
“Cocktail music played softly in the background as everyone socialized and admired our new home in North Carolina, which includes an on-site gym, ‘fun room’ with ping pong and foosball tables, mothers’ room, and large gathering room,” says Eddie Rodriguez, manager of Employee Engagement. “We also enjoyed a veritable feast, including food from pasta and carving stations and a variety of hors d’oeuvres—from beef wellington and meatballs to quiche and egg rolls. Spirits were high and everyone was dressed to the nines; it was an awesome affair.”
At 5:30 p.m., everyone was ushered into the new conference room/training center, where Kennedy, Law, and Michael DePaolis—Vice President and executive leader based in Weatherby’s Durham office—addressed the room.
“Here we sit today at nearly 120 people in a beautiful, new facility designed for us, still focused on growth and united in purpose,” said DePaolis. “There is a blending of familiar faces and new faces, all dependent on one another to continue on this incredible path to success. I am truly humbled.” After thanking everyone in attendance, as well as our parent company, DePaolis continued with a heartfelt toast which culminated with the ribbon-cutting ceremony, for which he was joined by Cole-McFadden.
