Weatherby Healthcare, a division of CHG Healthcare, was named to Triangle Business Journal’s 2019 Best Places to Work list, ranking no. 9 in the large company category.

How did the company end up on the Best Places to Work list?

“We encourage all of our employees to bring their whole selves to work,” says Mike DePaolis, senior vice president at Weatherby Healthcare. “Weatherby is committed to supporting our people in any way we can, and it shows in the great work that they do every day.”

Here are five more reasons why Weatherby Healthcare is a great place to work:

A commitment to core values

Weatherby stands by its core values — Putting People First, Quality and Professionalism, Growth, Integrity and Ethics, and Continuous Improvement — and encourages employees to be themselves. This results in a workplace environment that’s diverse, inclusive, and supportive. Weatherby strives to be a place where employees are passionate about their work and can grow their careers, while also having fun.

Every employee’s voice is heard

As an extension of Weatherby’s core values, open and transparent communication is a primary focus of the company. The company leadership administers an employee experience survey annually and makes it a priority to listen to its people, using feedback to enact change and improve the workplace environment.

People helping people

The Employee Compassion Fund is a unique program available to all Weatherby employees. Funded by employees for employees, the fund provides tax-free grants to those facing difficult circumstances, such as a serious illness or natural disaster. Weatherby also celebrates Making a Difference Week every year, where employees raise money for their favorite nonprofits and community organizations.

On-site amenities

It shouldn’t be a challenge to stay healthy, and that’s why Weatherby provides a free, on-site health clinic for all employees and their families. In addition to nutrition and physical fitness coaching, employees also have access to an on-site gym. Finally, a private mother’s room is available for those who are nursing.

Unique benefits

Weatherby goes above and beyond the traditional employee benefits. In addition to health insurance and retirement options, all employees can use Teladoc, a free physician consultation service, and make use of flexible work schedules. They also have access to pet insurance, credit monitoring services, and financial planning programs. Finally, employee network groups encourage employees to connect through shared interests, and each group receives annual funding for group events.

Winners of the Triangle Business Journal’s Best Places to Work were selected through an employee-survey process conducted by Quantum Workplace and were honored at an awards luncheon.
